Can i have it like that-(3/5)not really a fan on this joint. the beat is tough, but the lyrics are the same old ice cream -"skateboard p"- enzo loving-bapehead dribble.
How does it feel-(3.5/5)this song is a little better than "can i have it like that".lyrics are alright, he spits a little bit of substance here. you can tell he cant catch the beat on this song though. he just doesnt sound comfortable spittin to it. its like hes tryin to catch the beat throughout the whole song. but the beat is again dope lol.(its pharell what can u say)
Raspy Shit- (2/5)- not really feeling this track. The beat is kind of annoying. Its this hornlike sound he uses in it that im not a fan of. But if u get past that , its a decent tune. He spits about his money, cars, ice in this one. Like a real cocky flow. I dont have a problem with raps like that but when it comes from him it just seems forced after listening to the N.E.R.D albums. The hook uses that sample from “drop it like its hot” when he said “dont try to run up in my ear talking all that raspy shit”. ITS WACK. Its not even on beat and it sounds lame.
Best friend-(3.5/5)- this is actually a good joint. The beat really fits what hes saying. Is real inspirational and u can tell that hes spitting from the heart. It just sounds sincere, which music should be. The hook is not too hot though. Its starts to get boring halfway through the song. Its a decent song tho. He still cant catch the beat btw, should have slowed it up a little.
You can do it too-(4/5)-im feeling this. He need to rap to slower beats so it doesnt sound like hes forcing his flow and u can get into the song more. The hook and bridge are real good. Nice mellow tone and real lyrics. Thumbs up pharell.
Keep It Playa (Feat. Slim Thug)-(3/5)- average song imo. Beat is pretty cool. Has a real old school boom bap sound with some neptunes flavor.i think its dope how it the beat changes for is second verse. Slim thugs verse is alright too. Like i said, not a bad song just average.
That Girl(ft. Snoop dogg)(2.5/5)- another song that u can listen to but is still not a BANGER. Cool song, nice mellow beat. Nothing really stands out about it tho. If u were playing ur library on shuffle and this came on , it wouldnt really catch ur attention.
Angel(2/5)- this song annoys me. The beat is OK, but his singing is horrible. Lyrics are boring , hook is week, and it makes me wanna get up and change it every time it comes on.
Young Girl(ft. Jay-z)-(2/5)- ok first thing u notice on this one is the corny beat. Its very bland and slow. Im actually a fan of slow beats but this one is really hollow, sounds like its missing something. Also, pharells singing is not good lol. Its still listenable if ur in the mood for a slow joint i guess. It features on of those jayz after retirement 8 bar raps, which makes this song not get a 1.
Take it off-(??)- really dont kno what to think about this song. Hes singing again to a real slow jam type track. Sounds like a song u would throw on when u get that lady friend over lol. U gonna have to judge this one on ur own, idk if i like it or not. Sometimes it sounds wack, then it sounds dope. Im confused on this one.
Stay With Me (Dim The Lights) (Feat. Pusha T)-(2/5)-YAWN.another boring slow track. Pharell singing off key again. You kno the drill. Pusha T's verse is alright tho.
Baby (Feat. Nelly)(3.5/5)- So i guess this is like the R&B half of the album because he keeps singing. This is another love song with a smooth beat. Nelly's verse is forgettable. I really like the beat though. Song does have a nice feel to it.
Our Father-(2/5)- the hook goes “jesus is my daddy, im tellin yall”. He sing-raps about jesus and being grateful for his family and whatnot. Sincere lyrics over a pretty cool beat. But that hook kinda ruins the song. Just dont sit right with me.
Number One(4.5/5)- the fist single off the album and probably the best track on the album. His singing is complemented by kanyes rapping and ad-libing. To me it sounds so much better with another person on the track. He doesnt have the vocal skills to lead a whole album alone, but he sounds real good when put with a rapper.
Skateboard P Presents Show You How To Hustle (Feat. Lauren)-(4/5)beat is crucial on this song. Makes u make that face like u smell some dank herb.(in a good way tho). His lyrics dont add up to the beat tho. Hook is kinda cool, he has this girl on the hook with him adding some vocals. Song is dope for the beat alone, makes he raps sound better.
International Swagger(3/5)-another banging beat. He should have mixed these two songs in that r&b section on the album. Would have gave it a more balanced feel and kept the listener on their toes. Two best beats on the album should NOT be at the end. Sprinkle them in so people wont get bored with too much slow jams. His raps are the same ol. should have added the clipse to this beat and sang on the jook. It would have sounded so much doper.
OVERALL RATING: 3 -worth a listen but nothing special.
