Happy 10th Anniversary to the Sega Dreamcast..................!!

_The Sega Dreamcast will forever be favorite console of all time. I remember going downtown Brooklyn with my older brother to buy the system. We picked up about 5 games, some controllers, two lightguns, and tons of other crap. To me the Dreamcast was way ahead of its time. The first system i remember playing online on. If you have never had the pleasure of playing one, pick one up on ebay for dirt cheap, and have some FUN. Alot of the games are availble online in ISO format, ready to burn right to a CD and rock out. Heres a list of games that have never been paralleled even with the current generation of console.

Seaman

Seaman (シーマン Shīman?) is a virtual pet video game for the Sega Dreamcast. It is one of the few Dreamcast games to take advantage of the microphone attachment, which in Seaman uses a (relatively) sophisticated form of voice recognition technology. The substantial narration is voiced by Leonard Nimoy in the English-language version.

Jet Grind Radio

ChuChu Rocket

(this game would take over Xbox Live if they released it on the marketplace)

Phantasy Star Online

Shenmue

Power Stone

Power Stone is a fully 3D arena fighting game series made by Capcom. Gameplay involves selecting a character and then proceeding to battle the other characters, one at a time, in various locales. The fighting is three dimensional and includes the ability to use special attacks as well as pick up and fight with such objects as tables, chairs, rocks and bombs. During battle, "Power Stones," resembling gems of different colors, appear in the arena. If a character collects three Power Stones, he transforms into a more powerful version of himself. He will then be able to use one of two super special attacks. One is generally a massive long-range power attack and the other is a grab or close-range move. The powered-up mode only lasts until the power bar is fully drained, during which the special attack can be executed (which completely depletes the power bar) or other, lesser special moves can be executed (which only use a small portion of power). Each match continues until the life bar of one of the two characters fighting is depleted.

WiiSpray............!!![video]

WiiSpray Teaser from Martin Lihs on Vimeo.

'The foundational basis for the project goes well beyond replacing real graffiti as an art form. Moreover, WiiSpray
is to be seen as an interface to give graffiti a new virtual level surpassing tactile boundaries of the tangible world.

Within the system, there is a symbiosis of digital and analog as well as overcoming restrictions of distance and time. An advantage of the system proves to possess a user-friendly design simple enough for children to use. The virtual canvas allows the user to decide what is saved and what is discarded, all the while keeping the surrounding area clean and free of what otherwise would be a messy form of media.

The actual hardware tool of the artist – the spraying can – remains constant in its shape and
function and is a catalyst for this software supporting innovative computer interaction. The self-explanatory program requires no previous knowledge or reference of a user’s manual. This software allows users to make the game all their own, offering a wide
range of colors, interchangable caps, along with the possibility to incorporate the user’s personal photos, graphics, and backgrounds into the setting.

The WiiSpray provides a framework of different possibilities yet without any specifications on how to use it. Every user decides for themselves what his or her creative expressions might be.'

Hands On With iPhone's Star Defense..........!!!!

_'Star Defense is a classic tower defense game set on a series of planets. Instead of defending your base from a line of encroaching enemies from a top-down perspective, though, the game plays in 3D.

The game will feature seven or so worlds that you unlock as you go and three difficulty settings. The locations I saw included a comet-like planet and a square Borgish cube. In both levels enemies spawned from an alien ship and then marched along a trail that wrapped around the planet or cube until arriving at your station.

The 3D perspective could be turned or zoomed into using the touch interface.'

Skate 2_Intro Video................!!!

_skate revolutionized skateboarding games last year when they released a game, for skaters, by skaters. If you know what it feels like to step foot on a board and push around , this game will bring back that beautiful freedom. The sequel releases in January and im glad to see that , by the looks of the intro vid, they are sticking with the same formula, of using real skaters and not just the big X-Games dudes.

Game Time..................!!

_as fall closes in and cold weather creates a hermit out of me, video games return to my life. I've noticed that i get way more casual with my gaming during the summer months. Just playing NBA 2k and clapping a few people in Halo. The winter gaming season is like the equivalent to the summer movie season. Big things happen around this time. So i just wanted to share some titles that are on my radar.

NBA 2k9

_My girl bought me 2k8 a min ago and i haven't really started playing heavy it until recently. i want to upgrade to 2k9 but i really don't feel like paying 60 bucks for it since i don't play online and can care less about the new rosters.
Gears of War 2
_nothing more to really say about this one. Except about the Horde mode in multiplayer that is a co-op based game. You win by getting the most points. They put you on a team of five and you have to take on "hordes" of enemies. The enemies spawn in waves which gives everyone a chance to re up on ammo and get they minds right. It gets progressively harder as you play. Reminds me of the old arcade style side scrollers like X-men and Turtles. I'm excited to play it because i never was a fan of the deathmatch on this game because i was trash at it.
Left for Dead
_this game is from Valve, the creators of the Half Life series. The whole game is based on co-op gaming. Its a four player Zombie FPS that forces you to actually depend on the people you are playing with, unlike most online shooters that are out right now. It has a cool multiplayer mode where 4 people are zombies, and the other team is survivors. The Zombie team gets control of dummy zombies to throw at the survivors before they get to them. They move more like Bosses and the other team has to take them out.
Pure
_This game is basically SSX on ATV four wheelers. I have been playing this for the last week and just took it back to Blockbuster today and traded up for Force Unleashed. This game was mad fun to play. I'm a big fan of over the top games when they are done right. If you played SSX this and dug it, you should definitely give it a shot. The world tour mode is not deep at all but you do get the option to build your own ATVs. Its surprisingly deep for an arcade style game.
Dead Space
_Survival horror in space using mining tools to fuck up the undead in zero gravity....dope!
Skate 2
_Anyone that knows me knows i love skateboarding. But i am too old and lazy to step foot on a skateboard. This game lets me live my dream as a pro skater because it feels just like skating. The original came out about a year ago and I'm still playing this game on a regular basis. Best game to play while having a phone convo. Skate 2 has a couple features that are looking nice. The ability to get off your board is very welcome. They also added the ability to move things in the world, like benches and rails. Things you move around the city are permanent, so when you make a crazy gap it doesn't erase when you restart.
